Rabbi Reuven Cohn received his ordination and a graduate degree in Education from Yeshiva University, did advanced graduate work in Jewish Studies at Harvard University, and earned a law degree from Yale Law School. Designated a Ma’ayan Master Teacher, he has given numerous adult education classes in the Boston area and teaches for the Meah program, Hebrew College and Maimonides School. Top

Rabbi Elliot Kaplowitz serves as the Co-Director of the Jewish Learning Initiatve on Campus at Brandeis University and as Advisor to the Brandeis Orthodox Organization. Rabbi Kaplowitz received his rabbinic ordination from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, and he holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University. Rabbi Kaplowitz served as the rabbinic intern at Congregation Shaarei Tefillah and this is his second year teaching for Ma’ayan. Top

Leah Orent received her Ph.D. in Jewish philosophy and her MA in philosophy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Currently engaged in post-doctoral research, she has published in several academic journals. She is the author of Ratso va-shov, a comparative study of Habad Hasidism (in Hebrew). She has taught senior high-school classes in Israel, UK, and the US, and served as Judaica Specialist at the Harvard College Library. Top

Rabbi David Shapiro is Rosh Yeshiva of Maimonides School and holds the Rabbi Yitzhak Twersky Chair in Talmud and Jewish Thought. He served as the school’s principal for more than 20 years and is the author of Mei-apheila Le-Or Gadol: Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik on Pesach, Sefirat ha-Omer and Shavu’ot. Top
