Esther has been an important heroine to many Jews over the ages. But is she a figure to be emulated?
Does her story help us rethink whether the end can ever justify the means? A contemporary look at some idea in Halakha and Midrash.

Gilla Rosen is the Dean emeritus of the Yakar Center for Tradition and Creativity. She has lectured at a number of institutions including Yakar, Nishmat, Pardes, Lindenbaum and the Hebrew University. She teaches Gemara, Midrash and Tefilla and serves as a Nishmat Halachic Advisor for women. Gilla is an engaging and multidimensional teacher, best known for her outstanding ability as a Talmud teacher. Gilla was Ma’ayan’s keynote speaker at last year’s Women’s Siyum HaShas.
